2 Shot Goose Hunt Rules

bulletLimit: Two people and one guide per team( all of whom must be 18 yrs. of age).
bulletPit locations and guides are randomly chosen.
bulletEach hunter is allowed two shots during the hunt.
bulletAll rules and regulations of the Wyoming Game and Fish Dept. must be adhered to strictly.
bulletWinning team is determined by the total number of geese killed with the first two shots from each hunter.
bulletTotal weight of the geese will be the tie breaker.
bulletIf a third shot is used to recover any goose wounded by a hunter for scoring with the "Two Shot Scoring," that goose will be disqualified from scoring.
bulletAny wounded goose recovered without using an additional shot will be counted clean kill.
bulletA hunter may only fire his own 2 shots and may not fire either of his partner's.
bulletAny disputes will be handled by the Official Rules Committee and their ruling will be final.  No disputes will be heard after the last team has checked in.
bulletAfter the fourth shot has been fired, the guide and team must leave the pit immediately with the contest geese to check them in and have them weighed. The pit is then closed to hunters.
bulletMaximum of two geese per hunter will be scored for the hunt. If a hunter kills more than two, he will choose the two largest for scoring.
bulletThis is a "fair chase" contest, and all geese are to be killed in flight and not on the ground.
bulletNo alcohol allowed in the pits.
bulletAll geese must be in possession when checked in. The guide cannot return for wounded geese.
bulletEach hunter is responsible for having any dead geese cleaned and removed from the hunt site headquarters.
bulletAwards are given to the top three teams.
bulletThe hunt must be initiated from the blind, and all shots must be from  in the blind.  The only exception being:  A "second shot" taken outside the blind to recover a wounded goose.
bulletThe hunt will end at 1:00 p.m. sharp.
bulletAny alternate blinds will be designated during the pre-hunt Guide & Landowner Meeting.  Each guide will designate his blind location at that time and the blind cannot be moved.
bulletExplanation of a blind:

1.  No lay down blinds

2.  No portable blinds

3.  No hay bale blinds

4.  Blinds will be large enough to comfortably accommodate both hunters, guide, gear, etc.

5.  All hunters and guide will be placed in the same blind.
